Traditional child care models operate as though families live static, predictable lives centered around a single location and a rigid weekly schedule.

At Brella, we built flexibility into the foundation of our model because child care should move with families not the other way around.

That starts with scheduling flexibility. Families can book the care they actually need instead of being locked into schedules that no longer reflect how modern parenting and work operate. Some families use Brella full-time. Others use us a few days a week, for supplemental care or during changing work periods. The goal is not to force every family into the same model. The goal is to support real life.

But flexibility at Brella goes beyond scheduling.

One of the most unique parts of the Brella experience is that families can access multiple Brella centers as part of one connected community. A family might primarily attend one location but occasionally book at another center closer to work, meetings, grandparents, or temporary housing. If a family relocates neighborhoods or changes jobs across Los Angeles, they don’t necessarily need to start over with an entirely new child care provider and transition their child into an unfamiliar environment.

That continuity matters.

For children, familiarity creates comfort and confidence. For parents, it creates enormous logistical relief. Families can maintain relationships, routines, and trust within the Brella ecosystem even as their lives evolve.

Importantly, we never believed flexibility should come at the expense of quality. Children still experience nurturing educators, engaging curriculum, social-emotional development, and meaningful relationships across our centers. We believe families should not have to choose between adaptable care and exceptional care.

At its core, Brella’s flexibility is about respecting the reality of modern parenthood. Families deserve child care systems that understand their lives are dynamic, evolving, and sometimes unpredictable.
