Our Story

Why we believed families deserved something better.

Brella was born from a simple but powerful belief: child care should support families’ lives not control them.

When we looked at the traditional child care system, we saw parents constantly forced into impossible choices. Families were paying for schedules they didn’t need, struggling with rigid enrollment models, and trying to fit modern lives into systems built for a different era. Work had changed. Parenting had changed. But child care hadn’t.

At the same time, we saw another problem. Flexibility in child care was often associated with lower quality. Parents were expected to believe that if they wanted convenience or flexibility, they had to compromise on safety, education, or developmental value. We rejected that idea completely.

So we built something different.

Brella was designed to give families flexibility without sacrificing quality. A place where parents could book care in a way that matched their actual lives, while children experienced nurturing relationships, thoughtful curriculum, and meaningful developmental support every time they walked through our doors.

From the beginning, our vision was bigger than creating a new scheduling model. We wanted to rethink what child care could feel like for both families and educators.

We designed our centers to feel warm, modern, and joyful. We invested in technology to make booking and communication seamless. We built programs that support children socially, emotionally, physically, and academically whether they attend occasionally or every day. And we focused on creating an experience that respected parents, recognizing that today’s families are navigating work, caregiving, and life in ways that are more dynamic than ever before.

We also believe early childhood educators deserve more. The work they do is deeply skilled, emotionally demanding, and profoundly important. That’s why we continue investing in training, development, and tools that help our teachers grow and thrive in their careers.

Over the years, Brella has grown into a community of families, educators, and children who believe child care can be both high quality and adaptable. We’ve seen children build confidence, friendships, and foundational skills. We’ve watched parents regain time, flexibility, and peace of mind. And we’ve continued proving that flexible care does not have to mean lower standards.

In many ways, we believe the future of child care will require entirely new models that better reflect how families actually live and work. Brella is proud to be part of building that future.

Because families deserve care that works for their real lives. And children deserve environments where they can truly thrive.
